People often wonder why adoption. Many people adopt because of infertility issues. Many adopt because they would like to choose either a boy or a girl. And some adopt because they want to share their home with a child who doesn't have one. We are in the latter position. We have always thought that when we started a family we would adopt. We have had this desire, but not the financial means to do so. We finally decided to trust God's leading and just go for it. We have found out that God will provide. Always. |
Why China
Because of their one-child policy, innumerable babies, generally girls, are abandoned daily in China. Thousands are adopted to qualifying countries annually, and many more are adopted within China. Those not adopted are raised in orphanages where they may or may not get an education, where health care is substandard to the U.S., and where they will likely never learn of a God who loves them. Why not China?

How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we belong to Christ. Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure. Eph. 1:3-5 |
