Well, Yesterday was a thrill. Called home from work to talk to Merrie and Miah. I try to call a couple of times a day to say hi and see how their day is going. Yesterday Miah said Hi for the first time on the Phone. She has always wanted to play with the phone but not say hi. She hasn’t really started talking but Hi was a great start..
Every day starts with Miah wanting to be picked up from her crib. Followed by a hug and kiss. I have the privilege of being the one to get Miah up. Smiles and Hugs. We are so blessed with a Happy Girl. I have to get up and go to work and Miah has become my alarm clock. She gets me up, I pick her up, get her bottle. If there is time we lay on the couch while she drinks and watch the sun rise paint the mountains and clouds Pink. We might even read a book of Miah’s liking ( She loves animals) or play with her dolls. Oh she loves her dolls. I carry her throughout the house getting ready to leave for work. She is so curious about everything. Always saying her little “unh?” and pointing until you say what it is and satisfy her curiosity. Just before leaving we get mommy up! Then it is out the door. Waves and throwing of Kisses.
Fall is here. The air has turned cool and the mountains are getting snow. This is the time of year that we make apple sauce and apple cider. Merrie’s brother-in-law has an apple orchard. Last weekend we made apple sauce. My parents came up from Portland and we made 90+ quarts of apples sauce. It’s a lot of work, but oh so good. A few years ago I made an apple grinder and Cider press. We Make cider every year. It has become a tradition. For applesauce we use the Grinder to grind up the apples, then boil them and run them through a separator that takes out the seeds and skins. Works GREAT! This weekend we made Cider. 165 gallons. We sold some of it for a fundraiser for my nephew who is in college. There is a matching grant and we are trying to help him out. We place the cider in the freezer and use it throughout the year. Miah loves the cider and apple sauce.
Last night was the night Miah really took off walking. She can now stand up in the middle of the floor and start walking. Video may take a little time to load.
Well we gave Miah her first hair cut. It was getting a bit long and getting in her eyes. Barrettes weren’t staying in her hair. She likes to pull them out. We decided to cut her hair. We put her in her high chair and put a sheet around her. She seemed to like the attention. Wet her hair then cut it. I was afraid Miah would move but she sat still and did very well.
