6 Months Since Gotcha Ami Day

January 26th, 2011

2011.1.26

Six months ago today, little Miss Ami joined our family!

AmiGotcha

It took a few days for her to be comfortable with us, but now she wouldn’t have it any other way.  And we certainly wouldn’t!

She still adores her teddy bear that Miah gave her on that momentous day.

And she can still wear the same little dress she came in, though she’s grown an inch and a half in height, and gained four pounds.  She’s also gained seven teeth, not to mention her enormous increase in vocabulary and language skills.  I could go on and on…

Overall, I think the greatest reward is seeing how inseparable these two sisters are.  God is Good!

Climbing the Walls

January 21st, 2011

Our kids are climbing the walls.  Literally.  I guess that’s what one does in January when it’s cold and windy outside.  I should probably put them in gymnastics after Ami recovers from this next surgery.

We’ve actually had some nice days to play outside this week, too.  Notice how quickly our snow disappeared?

Oh, and we also had our 6 month post placement visit this week.  Almost six months home with Ami.  Can you believe it?

January is a Good Month

The other day Miah said something about summer (which she has always claimed to be her favorite season), so I asked her if she liked summer or winter better.  She replied, “Winter.”  It must have something to do with the snow.  She enjoys helping shovel (and really is a good helper), riding with Daddy when he plows, and likes to both pull and ride in the sled.

The girls met a new friend this week.  Unfortunately, she lives clear across the country.

So, other than snow, what is good about January?

It must be all the new toys to play with…
