True Missionaries

July 25th, 2008

This week we were privileged to have the Shanks visit us as they were passing through Washington.  Greg is Warren’s friend from high school, and he and his wife are serving as Missionary Doctors in Cameroon, Africa with their daughter.   You can read about their experiences on their MISSIONDOCS website, (also under our list of links).  I greatly admire them for their dedication and willingness to follow God’s leading.

Miah takes her time in warming up to new people.  Today she decided that Sarah was her best buddy, and was very sad to see them leave.

We did the tourist stops today and visited Rocky Reach Dam, where we get our electricity.  Miah is sitting in front of a model of the fish bypass tunnel.

Looking down on the fish ladder.

A view of the floral flag (seen in our last post) from on top of the dam.

Wearing her hair net from our tour of the Aplets and Cotlets factory.

Summer Fun

July 15th, 2008

One of our favorite playgrounds to visit is at Rocky Reach Dam.  Miah is sitting in front of a flag made of flowers.  Last week (above), and last year (below).

Two of Miah’s favorite things, bubbles and helping!

Fun at the Zoo and the Park

July 9th, 2008

Miah was fascinated with the Lorikeets,

And the fish,

And all the other critters.

Wheee!

Something’s wrong with this picture!

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for the great weekend.
