Cousins, on Class Night.
It’s been a busy week with farewell events, and graduations. Miah has been a real trooper with several late nights out in a row. Thankfully she’s been napping well this week. There were 17 graduates from our small Christian school this weekend. I was privileged to teach nine of them back in 4th & 5th grade.

Miah, & the 2 Katies. (Katie, on the right, came home from southern Guangdong about 17 years ago!)

Miah’s attempt at a smile, when she could hardly even hold her eyes open!

Sorry we can’t celebrate with you in person. Maybe Mommy will let me blow out her candles again for your birthday!

Our little bookworm has a favorite letter. Yes, “M” for Miah. She discovered months ago, that when you turn an M upside down, it becomes a W! So she turns books upside down to see M’s turn to W’s and W’s to M’s. In church she points out the W’s and M’s she sees on the big screen. Then she comments, “You can’t turn that upside down!” Here’s a conversation with Miah:
What is M for? Miah!
What else? Mommy…milk…monkey…Merrie.
Who’s Merrie? Mommy!
What begins with W? Warren.
Who’s Warren? Daddy!
We’re not even working on letters and sounds yet, but at one point I mentioned that these words began with these letters, and Miah remembered them. Another time the conversation went like this:
What begins with M? Miah!
What else? No (meaning “not”) Mommy!
She wants the M all to herself! Just like when she says, “Mommy no like pink!” I guess she’s afraid she’ll have to share something pink with me, and she definitely doesn’t want to give up anything pink!
