A Day at the Lake

Last week we spent part of a day at a friend’s house on Lake Chelan. Miah thoroughly enjoyed herself, and didn’t want to leave.

These were the best “smile” shots I was able to capture. (There are plenty with her head down!)

Miah frequently asks us, “Go to the mountains today?” She loves the great outdoors. Last Sabbath we drove over the mountains between Entiat and Chelan. It was a beautiful day, the views spectacular, and we encountered snow.

Watching the river with Daddy. Unfortunately, this time of year the rivers are too wild to play in.

Looking down on Lake Chelan.

Here are more views from “on top of the world”, and looking down on Lake Chelan, the 3rd deepest lake in the US.

Daddy, thanks for all the fun things you do with me – the places we go, the quality time you spend with me, and on and on… You’re the greatest! I love you!

This week we visited Ohme Gardens, a little oasis on a hillside near our home. Miah loves the place, especially the pools. ↓Here she was late last summer,

↓And on Monday.

At least she didn’t try drinking the water this time.

We climbed and descended the many stone steps with some cousins from out of town.

The shade was quite welcome,

And the views spectacular.

Miah really wanted to splash in the pool behind us! (And after the photo, she did.)

We visited a new (for us) park last week with a fun water feature.

Miah loves fountains and waterfalls (which, according to her, fall down the mountain and “get the mountain a-l-l wet.”)

She’s decided that playing in the sprinklers at home is fun, too.

Time for a snack of peas from the garden!

(Mr. Bunny happens to be hiding in the bean plants behind Miah. So far I haven’t seen any damage done, but this has become his daytime resting place.)

Do the peas taste any better than they did last year?
