Peas Please

June 30th, 2012

June is a great month.  I love all the flowers, and the temperatures are not too hot yet.

You also just can’t beat the fresh garden produce that is ready to eat.

That is if you can pick it!

Success!

Mmm.  Tasty.

(Despite the tasting, Ami gets a lot more peas in her bucket than she ever does huckleberries.)

Now it’s time for shelling.

I have great memories of June in previous years.  Please look at this post from four years ago.  I’m sure you’ll agree that I have the best garden help around!

Little Projects

June 26th, 2012

Ami has waited patiently for her doll quilt that was promised nearly a year ago.

First I had to finish her 100 Good Wishes Quilt, then I gathered the pre-cut scraps from both their quilts and put them together.

So it’s a scrappy quilt.  Lots of 5″x 5″ and 2.5″x 5″ pieces.

She’s more than pleased with it.

Her critters seem content to be wrapped in it.

And each piece of fabric comes from someone special just like their big quilts.

A Special Gift

June 18th, 2012

You can see the anticipation,

And the excitement!

Their very own violins, just like Daddy.

But in their very own size.

Graduation!

June 10th, 2012

Last week we were privileged to attend Nathaniel’s high school graduation!  Three of my former students graduated in his class.  They sure have changed since fifth grade!

What a nice looking family!

The girls sure enjoy their cousins!

They enjoyed the chocolate cake, too.

New Life

June 1st, 2012

What a special weekend we had!

Miah enjoys being the big cousin for a change.

Just look at that pleased expression.

Mutual admiration.

Ami was pretty pleased too!

“Mom, was I ever that small?”

We had fun with the older cousins, too.
