The Gift of Family

December 31st, 2011

We had an early Christmas at home since we traveled to Grandparents for Christmas.  The girls didn’t object at all.

On Christmas Eve Papa shared the story of the first Christmas, while three little shepherds listened attentively.

Then they became three kings.

But there were a lot more than three gifts being exchanged!

(A week later, Ami and Miah are still enjoying their bounty.)

The girls also had fun making cookies with Nana,

And visiting cousin Natalie,

Who just happened to have a birthday!

Ami led out (literally) in singing Happy Birthday.

The girls sure love their little cousin!

Merry Christmas!

A Night of Singing

December 23rd, 2011

Last week Miah was in her first choir concert.  We may be biased, but we thought she did an excellent job.  All of the kids did very well.

Not only did she sing beautifully, but she watched the director, and kept from fidgeting.  As the youngest choir member, she made us very proud.

Ami was invited to be an angel, but after practicing through one song, she declined the offer.  She is looking forward to being old enough to join the singing.  She already knows all the songs!

Enjoying the Season, part II

December 16th, 2011

Christmas Season.  Time for decorating Gingerbread Houses.

First experience for me as well as for the girls, so we went with the prebuilt houses this year.

Thanks Leila and Lottie for joining us!  All of you did an impressive job!  Next year we’ll build our own!

Oh no!  There’s mice in the house!

I hope the “farmer’s wife” doesn’t catch them!  I started singing that little song to Miah, and now she keeps asking me, “Why did she cut off their tails?”
